build peace in their homes, in their schools and in their communities; and in so doing they make the world a

| Although she considers herself only a “small cog” in the PeaceBuilders machine at the City of Burbank Park, Recreation & Community Services Department, we consider Deputy Director Teri Stein to be an integral member of our PeaceBuilders family and a quintessential PeaceBuilder at heart. |

Ms. Stein has been the city of Burbank’s PeaceBuilders coordinator for nearly seven years and has been instrumental in developing and managing the robust PeaceBuilders involvement of ten elementary schools, nine after school programs, and both the Boys & Girls Club and the YMCA in her city. Her department also provides PeaceBuilders trainings for school aids, school Resource Officers, and City of Burbank library staff.
Every year, all year, Ms. Stein ensures that each of these institutions receives the materials and support necessary to make PeaceBuilders a way of life for countless young people, faculty, staff, families, and Burbank community members.
She regularly attends City Youth Task Force meetings to report on PeaceBuilders development and activities and she makes certain that PeaceBuilders is represented in all city-wide events. In addition, Ms. Stein coordinates PeaceBuilders presentations for the Burbank City Council to keep them updated on the progress of the program.
Whether at school, during after school care, or throughout the city of Burbank, young people are coached and encouraged to practice the Principles of PeaceBuilders all day. This fine city has spread PeaceBuilders far beyond the confines of the school campus to show young people, families, and community members the many benefits of making PeaceBuilders a way of life.
We honor Teri Stein as our PeaceBuilder of the Month for all the work she has done and all the success that has been achieved through this wonderful city-wide investment in PeaceBuilders. Thank you, Teri! |
