“National PeaceBuilders” throughout the year. These exceptional people work unselfishly to
build peace in their homes, in their schools and in their communities; and in so doing they make the world a

| It takes a special person to lead a remote and diverse group of people in PeaceBuilders implementation.
When the PeaceBuilders adult leaders in an organization are spread across two counties, the challenges are
unique, but with a commitment to building peace, they are easily surmountable. |
| This month we honor Assistant Director of After-School Programs at Hope Through Housing, a non-profit
organization that provides after-school care on site of National Community Renaissance (National CORE)
affordable housing communities. |

| Meet Susan Neufeld, a PeaceBuilders leader and role-model. |
| Ms. Neufeld has been instrumental in bringing PeaceBuilders to a growing number of Hope Through Housing
communities, and her goal is to make sure all the staff and all the families benefit from the PeaceBuilders
way of life. |
| Not only have the folks at Hope Through Housing made sure the after-school staff is trained in
PeaceBuilders, they have been creative in and committed to ensuring that the staff implements PeaceBuilders
into the daily routine at all the sites that currently use it. |
| Many children living in many Hope Through Housing communities are encouraged and empowered by the adults
who coach them to build peace in their lives and in their communities. We praise Susan Neufeld for her vision
to bring PeaceBuilders into these families' lives and for her commitment to bring PeaceBuilders to more
children and their families in the near future. |
