National PeaceBuilder |
|
| As our way of honoring PeaceBuilders who go beyond all expectations, PeacePartners, Inc. recognizes several
“National PeaceBuilders” throughout the year. These exceptional people work unselfishly to
build peace in their homes, in their schools and in their communities; and in so doing they make the world a
better place for all of us. Join us in celebrating each and every one of them for their contributions in creating
safer, more peaceful learning environments. |

| Larry Skeels, Principal of Riverview and Winter Gardens Elementary Schools |
| Everyone who meets Mr. Skeels immediately recognizes something special in him. His smile is warm. His
eyes sparkle. His handshake or hug is strong and sincere. This is a man who makes everyone feel welcomed
and valued. No doubt about it: this man is a PeaceBuilder. |
| Larry Skeels has made PeaceBuilding the culture at both Riverview and Winter Gardens. Whether
children are studying Math, playing on the playground, or eating their lunch they are expected to be
PeaceBuilders, just like Mr. Skeels - all day, every day. Building peace is as much a constant in their
lives as waking up in the morning. If you go to one of Mr. Skeels' schools, you are required to be a
PeaceBuilder. |
| Principal Skeels does not expect to be recognized for being the PeaceBuilders leader and chief
role-model at Riverview and Winter Gardens; in fact, he probably finds it a little uncomfortable to
receive the attention. He is a PeaceBuilder because it is his nature and because it is the right thing
to do. He does it because it makes a difference. |
| Don't doubt there are heroes among us who are changing the world. Larry Skeels is one of them.
One child at a time, he takes a stand and makes the world a better place. |
