“National PeaceBuilders” throughout the year. These exceptional people work unselfishly to
build peace in their homes, in their schools and in their communities; and in so doing they make the world a
better place for all of us. Join us in celebrating each and every one of them for their contributions in creating

| When the PeaceBuilders program is successful at a site, it is because everyone is working together to build a culture of peace. But even when everyone collaborates, as they do so well at Morse Pond School, there is often one person who stands out and embodies the spirit of PeaceBuilders. |

| Because she is so well loved, so warmly respected, and so deeply admired, staff and students at Morse Pond have banded together to nominate Assistant Principal Andrea Schwamb to be the PeaceBuilder of the Month for November, 2007. No one, they say, deserves it more. |
Ms. Schwamb has been nominated because she is a thoughtful and strong leader. The staff respects her because she is “…a model of peace for both students and staff.” They admire the way she interacts with children who “…really take to her because she is a fair disciplinarian and treats each child as an individual.” They enjoy working with Assistant Principal Schwamb because “She always has a smile to share…and is VERY approachable for staff.”
Young people at Morse Pond also love and admire their leader. They see Ms. Schwamb as a model PeaceBuilder and someone they want to emulate. They appreciate the way she “…follows all the rules in the PeaceBuilders Pledge” and “…tries to make this school and world better.” The students are learning how to be good people and involved citizens by following their assistant principal’s lead. They say she “…shows respect to everyone and cares about anyone.” And they are impressed by the way “…she fixes problems without violence.”
The staff and students at Morse Pond School are fortunate to work and learn with someone of such commendable character. We are so happy they have shared their fortune with us. We should all strive to encourage and influence others as effectively as Andrea Schwamb, our esteemed PeaceBuilder of the Month. |
