Monica Andrews, Community Relations Director, joined PeacePartners in December of 2003. Monica has worked in the field of education in many capacities for over 15 years. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Child Development and Education and is currently completing her Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Nonprofit Management.
What she likes best about working for PeacePartners, is being a part of something much bigger than herself. This program changes lives and she gets to witness that every day. Monica knows that peace begins with us, and here at PeacePartners we practice what we preach. She loves being a PeaceBuilder!
What makes Monica happy are her friends and family, traveling abroad, yoga, her cats, listening to music, and practicing the sixth PeaceBuilders Principle (Help Others) by volunteering.
A little known fact about Monica is that when she travels she wears a jade frog around her neck for good luck. She never travels without it. In fact, if she ever got to the airport and didn’t have her frog, she would turn around and go home!
Monica’s favorite peace quote is about the dynamics of creating positive relationships with yourself and others. |
“When we feel love and kindness toward others,
it not only makes others feel loved and cared for,
but it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace.”
~Dalai Lama
