At PeacePartners, Inc., the company that facilitates the PeaceBuilders program by training and supporting more than 1100 sites in North America and in U.S. Territories, PeaceBuilders is not merely a violence prevention and character education program; it is a way of life. Being PeaceBuilders dictates the way we way we treat others, so it consequentially dictates how we conduct business. We take the business of peace very seriously.
So recently, when we invited all our sites to participate in our PeaceBuilders Collect Pennies for Peace™ Campaign, we didn't think twice about our own participation. We decorated a big glass jar with the Pennies for Peace logo:

And we gave ourselves a goal and issued a challenge. If we raised at least $300 by March 6, 2009, CEO and President Michelle Molina agreed to dress up like a hippie and Senior Director of Support Donna Burcher agreed to come to work as a cowgirl. That sealed the deal...

Yes, we do take PeaceBuilding seriously! A workplace that allows us to have fun while we meet our goals and overcome our challenges is a serious benefit to us, but it is also a benefit to others. Happy people do good work. Helping others makes happy people. It's a compassionate cycle, and PeacePartners is making the rounds.
